Coriander… The Great Love Or Hate Debate

Whether Coriander tastes like soap and dead bugs to you…

Or you love it’s fresh, bright popping flavour…

This plant is great for gut health!


Many cultures around the world use this beautiful plant. The Persians grew Coriander for its medicinal and culinary purposes over 3000 years ago and it is said that it’s fragrance could be found in the hanging gardens of Babylon. 🌿✨



So what are some of the benefits?


Coriander is a mild antiseptic… It contains contain a chemical called dodecanal that has shown to have an antibacterial effect against salmonella.


It is a stimulant, carminative and warming to the stomach which helps digestion and dispels wind in adults and colic in infants.


It is also a antioxidant to help our cells from oxidate stress and is a source of iron, magnesium and manganese.



CORIANDER X BELLY HEALING HELP:


-Add half a tsp of bruised seeds into a cup of boiling water and cover for 10 minutes with a saucer to prevent the volatile oils escaping.

Drink before meals or when necessary for flatulence.


-It also mixes well with fennel and cumin seeds for extra gut healing benefits!


-You can throw bruised seeds and the leaves into your dishes to help digestion…

Such as soups, curries or throw it in the mix to marinate your fish or mushrooms.


-Coriander is also found in some of my Belly Healing Bloating oils. 💚


TIP:

If you don't like the taste of the leaves... Try the seeds... It may have less effect on you!
